WURLITZER, the iconic German-American brand known for its innovative musical instruments and equipment, started in 1853 in America by German immigrant Franz Rudolph Wurlitzer, who imported stringed, woodwind and brass instruments from Germany.

By 1880, the company began opening factories for manufacturing pianos and quickly expanded to make band organs, orchestrions, and player pianos and the famous “The Mighty Wurlitzer” organs. Other musical devices that gave the WURLITZER brand international recognition was the iconic jukebox, which transformed the way music entertained and the electric piano that has shaped the sound of musical hits for decades.
