Because Roto-Rooter’s service is emergency based, it is infrequently and unexpectedly used. As a result, maintaining strong top-of-mind awareness is critical to the company's continued success. The company’s current mainstay, Yellow Pages™ advertising, has become increasingly costly and provides less of an effective competitive advantage than it once did.
LMCA’s brand licensing program goal was to create extensions that would boost top-of-mind awareness, help support market share growth in the company’s core business, and provide a new source of marketing funds.
Solution

Results
The new Roto-Rooter product line gained supermarket and hardware store distribution and a strong early share of market. Top-of-mind awareness and overall brand presence is up, supported by retail shelf presence, truck signage, Yellow Pages™ and on-package and promotional tie-ins.
